Statistics has become an essential course to all students of research. Students entering the undergraduate programme are diverse. Some have strong mathematical skills, while others are average. For students to understand courses in Educational and social statistics is vital that they grasp the basic of statistics. This course introduces students to various tools used in statistical analysis. Statistical thinking will one day be as necessary for efficient citizenship as the ability to read and write. Each day our lives we are exposed to a wide assorted of numerical information pertaining to such phenomena as stock marker activity, unemployment rates, medical research findings, weather forecasts, opinion poll results and sports data. Frequently such information has a pound impact on our lives. Finally the book attempts to equip the student with the basics in statistics so as to enable them have a basic for studying statistics in quantitative methods at higher levels.
