Status of Plantation Workers in India - A Livelihood Approach

The plantation industry is the largest private employers in India. It is spread across the States of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. The plantation workforce has however been among the exploited workforce. This study throws light on this issue through livelihood approach. Dr.R.Mani (b.1964) is working as Associate Professor Gandhigram Rural Institute - Deemed University, Gandhigram. He has got thirteen years of teaching, research and extension experience to his credit. He guided two Ph.Ds, and 9 M.Phil Research Scholars. He has published more than 15 Articles, presented 40 research papers and one book.
