For the past two decades, Knowledge Management (KM) has been the trend du jour of business and technology. In today s world where organizations are facing pressures from globalization and changing technologies, and where knowledge has become the coin of the realm, the one segment that has not fully embraced KM is academia. One obvious reason for Knowledge Management not being widespread in academia is the lack of some of the strategic skills needed by the professionals that should manage knowledge in our institutions.
