Strategic Urbanization Plan for Cities

The City of Bacolod's performance in the area of informal settlers, traffic management, illegal vendors and peace and order were examined to be able to determine baseline data. Primary and secondary data were also gathered as part of the environmental scanning and SWOT analysis. The findings served as bases for the formulation of the Sustainable Urbanization Plan for the City of Bacolod utilizing strategic management framework of Wheelen and Hunger (2005), the United Nations Development Program Guide for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation and the Swedish International Development Agency's SymbioCity Approach.

The author finished his PhD. major in Development Studies from the University of St. La Salle in Bacolod City, Philippines. He earned his Master in Business Administration (MBA)from the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City, Philippines; has Law degree (LLB)& B.S Commerce - both from the University of Negros Occidental- Recoletos, Philippines.
