An organization s training and development activities support the attainment of organization objectives and if these activities are well planned and implemented, they enhance the human resource plan and support the strategic direction of the organization. The prevalence, expense, and strategic importance of employee and management development activities suggest that these activities should be monitored on an ongoing basis. Training budgets typically define how money can be allocated for training development and delivery for an organization. Financing training activities requires analyzing needs, making decisions and monitoring results. Moreover, by using an organizational training strategy to develop the training budget, and by comparing various scenarios to determine the most cost-efficient method of delivering a training program, Human Resource Managers are more likely to win the support necessary to implement the organizations program. This book therefore clearly illustrates the key strategies that organizations should endeavor to apply while allocating their training budget so as to ensure the attainment of effective and efficient organizational objectives.
