Today, from the village to the city, the preparation, sale and consumption of food in the "open air" is commonplace. What are the socio-economic and cultural factors that justify the consumption of street food by the people of Yopougon Gesco? In this study, the representations that the populations have of street food is one of the determining factors in the consumption of these foods. From this, we deduce that the consumption of street food is linked to the representations that people have of street food; the themes addressed during the representations concern the hygiene of street food, the buying and selling environment, the nature of street food and the frequency of consumption per day. Also, the populations consume street foods because they are not difficult to apprehend, i.e., close to the populations and at lower cost. Thus, the other factor is related to the geographical and financial accessibility of these foods.
