About the Book: Stress is a necessary positive force leading to effective work and maintenance of good health, while an excess of stress is considered a negative stimulus as it can result in many types of psychosomatic problems and may threat the adaptation and integrity of the organism. There are several types of stress, among them, organizational stress is very important in the workforce. Organizational stress originates in organizational demands that are experienced by the individual. Stress is built up in the concept of the role which is conceived as the position a person occupies in a system. This book investigates the intensity of organizational role stress among working women in India. The moderating effect of social support and various coping strategies has also analyzed in this book.

Dr. Archana Upadhyay completed her B. A. (Hons) from Magadh University Bodh Gaya Bihar, M. A. in Psychology from University of Delhi, Delhi. She completed her Ph.D. in Psychology from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. She worked in the area of stress and health financially supported by ICSSR, New Delhi. She has several publications in her credit.
