In this book, the author offer a new understanding of the nature of challenges experience by parents of children with intellectual disability (ID). It offers ways to help professionals to think beyond labels and observe the unique challenges; strength and problems, of families caring for a child with a disability. The book also move step by step through the services necessary to help families cope with a child s disability and offers deep understanding of the skills needed to strength cargiving self-efficacy. The author presents an empirical study that show the experiences of parenting a child with ID, family services needed to care for the child, and types of caregiving self-efficacy that help enhancing the life circumstances of families of children with ID.
