The main aim is to determine the effect of metallic coating which is silver coating over the piston head which has high thermal conductivity with respect to the cast steel piston. Effects of the coated pistons on temperature and thermal stress distributions are analyzed and compared with the results of an uncoated piston by means of both static and thermal analysis.The piston head is coated with silver which has high thermal conductivity. For this design adding varying thickness ranging from 300 micrometers to 700 micrometers of metallic material used on cast steel pistons. Through CATIA, piston module can be created and through ANSYS,structural, static and transient analysis will be done and compared the results of uncoated piston.
