Studies in application of organic reagents in Analytical Chemistry

The book describe Color and Chemical constitution of some Insecticides and Drugs. The quantitative analysis is vital in medico legal cases. It also can be used to study shelf life of the compound e. g. P=S gives reaction positive whereas -P-S- or -S- are not giving any color. Paracetamol gives color but certain metabolites do not interfere in the reaction. Ethyl alcohol and Methyl alcohol both having -OH, only ethyl alcohol reacts with 2-thiobarbituric acid after oxidation whereas methanol doesn't follow the reaction.
