The prevalence of diabetes and its complication is increasing all over the world particularly in developing countries. It has emerged as a major public health problem in our country. An estimated 285 million people, corresponding to 6.4% of the world's adult population, lives with diabetes now. The number is expected to grow to 438 million by 2030, corresponding to 7.8% of the adult populationThe disease Madhumeha described under Prameha and it is the subtype of Vataja Prameha. Madhumeha (T2 DM), a syndrome, can be a crippling condition that gets worse with time. If left untreated or improperly managed condition almost always attacks many vital systems. It is elaborately described since ancient age and its incidence is increasing day by day because of erratic lifestyle and diet leading to obesity followed by Madhumeha along with their complications.The major micro vascular complications are diabetic retinopathy, diabetic nephropathy and diabetic neuropathy are studied in this work.
