This book is an attempt to deal with the reproductive and child health among the Loi, an indigenous schedule caste population of Manipur, India with a view to understanding how certain indicators of the reproductive and child health are associated with demographic, biological and socio-economic variables in both rural and urban areas.This book highlights differences of maternal health indicators like reproductive wastage,maternal BMI,awareness of ANC, knowledge of FP,maternal morbidity of rural and urban are mainly due to the differences in socio-economic conditions especially in terms of education and economic condition. The study focus on nutritional status of children in terms of BMI.It also deals about the gender differences on child immunizations.

Autorentext

Dr Tonjam Joshila Chanu has completed PhD in NEHU, Shillong, India. She has published papers in international and national journals mainly on maternal health and worked as a research fellow in different organizations. At present she is working as Post Doctoral Fellow. She is interested on maternal health issues.
