Study of Vancomycin susceptibility of Staphylococcus aureus

This work on Staphylococcus aureus was an effort to find out the resistance patterns of different antibiotics to this dreaded bacteria most commonly present in pus and also very common in other body fluids. Different antibiotic sensitivity testing methods were performed and prevalence of Vancomycin Intermediate Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VISA), heteroresistant Vancomycin intermediate Staphylococcus aureus (hVISA) and Vancomycin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (VRSA) were found out.
