Subterranean Politics in Europe

The demonstrations and occupations that emerged across Europe in 2011-12 struck a chord in public opinion in a way that has not been true for many years. Based on research carried out across the continent, this volume investigates why this is occurring now and what they tell us about the future of the European project.

The authors' purpose with this book is to investigate and analyze the activities, demonstrations, and political initiatives taking place across Europe in 2011 and 2012. The audience for the book is mainly for academic researchers and theorists with an interest in democracy and civil society theory. It is also recommended for researchers using surveys, demographics, and statistics as methodological tools.
