Suburbanization and sustainable city in Cameroon: Case of Nkolbisson
Details
In this book, the author tackles with finesse the issue of the fragmentation of rural areas into urban cities. The consequences are manifold, and in the case of Nkolbisson in Cameroon, we discover the problems created by residential mobility to outlying areas. An analysis of the ecological and demographic evolution of the city of Yaoundé sheds light on the advent of peri-urban areas such as Nkolbisson. The other advantage of this study lies in the strength of the proposals made to make these new spaces, which are the consequence of anarchic urbanization in Africa, spatially sustainable, economically viable, socially liveable and ecologically acceptable.
