Success factors of LBO-backed IPOs

This paper provides an overview of the existing literature on acquisition-backed initial public offerings, compares empirical studies and, as a result, presents the potential factors for the short- and long-term success of these companies after their IPO. The theoretical approach that underlies value creation in companies following acquisition by venture capital firms is agency theory.
