This book introduces the detailed synthesis of receptors like porphyrinogens and metalloporphyrins, which is an important area of supramolecular chemistry and have been used as models of cytochrome P450 to mimic the in-vivo metabolism of pharmaceuticals. Apart from synthesizing these compounds, the book covers the self aggregation studies, anion-cation binding and oxidation of organic substrates catalyzed by metalloporphyrins, which constitutes a major class of biomimetic oxidation reactions used in modern synthetic chemistry.

Dr. Shaina D. Jain is currently a visiting Research Associate at the School of Chemistry, University of Nottingham. She was earlier an Assistant Professor at University of Delhi and taught Chemistry to undergraduate students. She received her PhD degree from the University of Delhi in 2014.
