Sustainability Issues of Biomass based Rural Electrification

Renewable energy technologies have gained widespread attention because of the modern day problems such as climate change and environmental pollution. Electrification by means of renewable energy technologies is a promising mitigation measure to address climate change and pollution related problems. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate sustainability issues related with renewable energy technologies. This work examines sustainability issues associated with biomass gasification based rural electrification.

Parakram Pyakurel was born in February 27, 1986 in Kathmandu, Nepal. He completed Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Pulchowk Campus, Institute of Engineering in the academic year 2007/2008. He has been working in renewable energy sector since 2008 and is a founder member of organization called Energy for Development Nepal.
