Sustainable Business Practices

The adoption of Sustainable Development Principles by the trade effluent-generating industries is a catalyst for pollution prevention at the source. The strategic inclusion of SD principles by the industries balances profit-making with the needs of the people and the environment. The triple bottom line (TBL) performance framework suggested by Elkington to curb negative environmental effects due to industrialization has not been fully implemented by the industry in developing countries. The application of sustainable strategic management (SSM) enhances the uptake of the TBL performance framework. This book provides guidance to the industry on the practice of SD.
