Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Achieving a sustainable future and promoting equality, human rights, and justice for everyone by 2030 is the global call to action outlined in the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, approved by the United Nations Member States in 2015, sets up a collective plan to ensure that all people and the Earth experience peace and prosperity in the present and the future. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of seventeen interconnected objectives to promote human flourishing and address environmental degradation and climate change. SDGs 10 and 13 address inequalities, SDG 16 addresses peace and justice, and SDG 17 calls for international collaboration to achieve global targets. These objectives and their corresponding targets recognize the interconnectedness of eradicating poverty and other forms of deprivation, addressing climate change, preserving our natural environment, and improving health and education. It is only via working together, across borders and disciplines, and with community partners that these SDGs have a chance of being accomplished.
