A study of Eco-tourism in Pokhara focuses the recent Environmental challenges and its future to the welfare of local environment and people. Pokhara region has many natural assets such as an ecological setting with a high range of Himalaya, valley, lakes and deep gorges, an adventure of geography for trekking and camping, culture, and a trend of tourism history. The study is aware with recent environmental challenges such as poor economy, political instability, lack of professional education and training, gender inequality, cultural encroachment from the neighboring country, huge quantity of mismanagement and pollution level in the city and lakes, immigrants pressures and haphazard settlement, and a weakness of laws and orders etcetera. The recent tourism management should improve drastically through a sustainable Ecotourism plan, in which a new direction of policy, planning, and management should be involved to back up all the environmental, cultural, and political development in track. Therefore, there is a need of effective planning and integrated management for the development of sustainable ecotourism in Pokhara region.
