Symbolism and Mythology in Raja Rao's The Chessmaster and His Moves
Details
Being an Indian Brahmin, Raja Rao was deeply rooted in the Indian Philosophy consisting Advaita Vedanta, Buddhist Sunyavada and Buddhist Tantrism. He had vividly shown the Hindu psychology finding truth and reality among these ancient traditions and doctrines. The quest of truth brings human relationships to different horizons of existence. After living a long span of life in France, Raja Rao had presented a mosaic of French characters with Christian background, having remarkable affinity with Indian Culture. Though all his characters live with different faiths, they locate a ruling power deciding their destiny and actions.
