Synthesis of Biheterocyclic Molecules

Heterocyclic compounds are very widely distributed in nature and are essential to life due to their valuable biological applications.More than 90 % of newly prepared drugs are incorporated with heterocyclic rings. Heterocycles show considerable biological properties such as antibiotic, antifungal, antiviral, antihistamine, antiinflammatory, anticonvulsant, anthelmintic, anticancer, antidepressant activities. This is interface between chemistry and biology through which so much new scientific insight, drug discovery and its various application made these heterocyclic compounds more attractive worldwide for synthesis and investigations of their bioactivities.

Dr.Hummera Rafique obtained her Ph.D Degree in Organic Chemistry from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad Pakistan in Dec,2012. Currently, she is Assistant Professor at University of Gujrat, Pakistan. Her research interests include synthesis of Bioactive Heterocyclic compounds and Natural Products.
