Cyclic imides have been attracted much more attention of organic and medicinal chemists due to their biological activities, most of them are extensively used as analgesic, anti-nociceptive agents or as reactants for polymer synthesis. An imide nucleus can be also found in a structure of anxiolytic, antimicrobial, anticancer and anti-inflammatory substances. Cyclic imides comprising the most common heterocyclic elements like nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur plays a vital role in the development of pharmaceutical, medicinal, chemical and agricultural fields. Heterocycles provides the great fortune for the development of novel and compelling medicinal drugs. An integral part of agricultural and horticultural field had developed by Plant growth regulators (PGRs). Subsequently, there is an increased demand for novel and cost efficient products. However, the market is limited due to unsatisfactory development. In this situation chemical moiety has secured better attention as a powerful assessment for super scribe specific route. Heterocyclic imides such as succinimides, glutarimides, malononitriles, chalcone, pyrazolies, pyrimidines derivatives plays a very important role.

Dr Prashant P Chaudhari [MSc (Organic Chemistry), PhD]Assistant Professor at Dr D Y Patil School of Engineering, Pune Maharashtra, India 412105.My area of interest is Synthesis & Heterocycles because these medleys have an ample range of appliances. It constitutes the building block to give rise to near about 65% of organic scaffold literature.
