Synthetic Studies on Some Novel Organophosphorus Compounds

The field of Organophosphorus Chemistry and ubiquitous applications of OPC's has grown so much in the recent years. It becomes obvious now, that phosphorus chemistry and organophosphorus compounds have sufficient diagnostics and prognostic values. Thus, there is an unmet medical need to synthesize novel assemblies of organophosphorus compounds for use in diverse pharmacological applications. Organophosphorus compounds found use as plasticizers, extraction agents, oxidation inhibitors in lubricants, flotation and complexing agents for transition metals, fertilizers, pesticides in agriculture and as drugs for viral and bacterial infections. Yet they lag behind in the research field. Great efforts have been made to synthesize organophosphorus compounds that have successful applications in various fields and that ensured a limitless scope for this area of chemistry.
