Syria: Neglected Responsibility, Prevailing Politics
Details
A good reference for those who are interested in the dilemma of humanitarian intervention and pragmatism in international politics. This writing conveys a message to reinvent our notion of humanitarian response and responsibility to protect (R2P) if the international community is serious about upholding this principle. Moreover, the writer put much concern about how the current system that envelops R2P is heavily dependent on existing power structure. When this two aspect is not addressed, as shown in the writing, R2P will always be just another good-to-have on paper norm, failed to realized it's true potential.
