It is 1795 and Virgil embarks on yet another quest for information for the British government; he encounters many obstacles and uses different disguises to obtain access to various areas of the armées and the high society (Bourgeoisie), in France. Recovering from torture in a convent, he has many hours to reflect on his downfall, who betrayed him? How did he get here? Who brought him here and why? He should be dead he knew that! An unexpected ally appears and together they search for the traitor who has been secreted in England, Assisted by his old and dear friend the Frenchman, Piers Monterrey, who has been conscripted into the French Armée and is rapidly gaining rank. Each one of the principal characters faces their own nemesis.
Autorentext
Ray Best, was born in East London and grew up in Essex, he studied History and Photography at the Open University. And was a senior Technician Engineer for the NHS. He is a qualified, Education and Training advisor at a large University Hospital in the UK. This is his second book, the first being: The Brotherhood of the Hawk.
