"Te Amo" ("I Love You") is a song written and performed by Panamanian reggaetón singer-songwriter Makano. It was released as the second single from his first international release of the same title. This single peaked at number-one in the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart. In late 2006, Panamá Music signed Makano to record his first album. The deal became final on May 2007 and in the following month, the singer, along with his record producer and manager reviewed and selected the songs to be included on the album. They agreed that his music style would be romantic, but also wanted to be aggressive with the first single to be released.
