Teachers' commitment in special and inclusive schools

Along with the promotion and implementation of educational inclusion, the issue of the place and role of special schools took shape. The reforms and changes in special education in Romania affected the status of teachers, their satisfaction and resistance to stress. The relevance of the issues in this book is justified by the desire to prove the usefulness of Romanian special schools through teachers' commitment. The novelty of the investigating endeavour resides in the topicality of speciality terminology, in stressing the dilemmas of inclusive school, in unmasking the reasons for teachers' commitment in special school and in choosing less considered variables in the literature - namely career choice and self-determination in keeping their profession. The conclusion of the research illustrates that teachers' commitment is a significant element of the organizational culture of special schools, which reveals the human dimension of all educational actors. Teachers' commitment is a predictor of their humanity and loyalty. This book is dedicated to teachers activating in special schools, to all categories of specialists or to anyone else involved in special and inclusive education.

Alina M rg ri oiu a étudié la psychopédagogie spécialisée et est titulaire d'un doctorat en philosophie à l'université Al. I. Cuza de Iasi. Elle est professeur adjoint à l'université Petroleum-Gas de Ploiesti, en Roumanie, et forme les futurs enseignants et spécialistes de l'éducation spéciale/inclusive. Elle est formatrice et experte/chercheuse dans des projets nationaux et internationaux.
