Teaching Vocabulary through Print Advertisements

For a second language learners the acquisition of vocabulary is a basic and the important component for their language comprehensibility. Moreover it has been stated in several researches that people could describe a few things without grammar, but cannot express without vocabulary. A good mastery of vocabulary is fundamental for ESL/EFL learners. In this study the researcher prepared tasks based on print advertisements to enhance vocabulary in English for the students at tertiary level. For these purpose advertisements from three major segments: Automobile, food and beauty products were selected.
