HYPER has won multiple awards at the regional and international levels of the FIRST Robotics Competition, and participates regularly in outreach programs for middle school students.Team 69 was founded in 1996 being sponsored by Nynex. Then in 1998, they switched their sponsor to Gillette. Paul Mauriello founded the team and ran it until 2009, leading the team to 7 regional championships and countless awards.
