The Philippines' Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Filipino: Pangasiwaan sa Edukasyong Teknikal at Pagpapaunlad ng Kasanayan), abbreviated as TESDA, is an agency of the Philippine government under the Department of Labor and Employment responsible for managing and supervising technical education and skills development in the Philippines. The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority was established through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 authored by Senator Francisco Tatad otherwise known as the "Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994", which was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos on August 25, 1994.
