This book systematically reviews the theoretical origins, methodological applications, and empirical studies of agricultural technological progress and productivity research since 1949. What is agricultural technological progress and productivity, and how is it measured? How has the contribution of agricultural technological progress in China changed since the founding of New China? Autorentext

Binlei Gong is the Qiushi chair professor in School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University. He serves as the executive vice dean in China Academy for Rural Development (CARD) and president of Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) China Section. His research interests include agricultural economics and energy and environmental economics, and his papers have been published in many journals, including Journal of Development Economics and American Journal of Agricultural Economics.

Shurui Zhang is the assistant professor in School of Business Administration at Northeastern University (China). Her research interests include agricultural economics, disaster economics, resource, and environmental economics, especially focusing on the impact of exogenous shocks on agricultural production. Her papers have been published in many journals, including Global Food Security and China Agricultural Economic Review.

Shuo Wang is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Public Affairs at Zhejiang University, specializing in Agricultural Economics and Environmental Economics. She has published research in journals, including the Journal of Productivity Analysis and China Agricultural Economic Review. Her work explores the intersection of agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability, contributing valuable insights to the field.

Lingran Yuan is a Boya postdoctoral fellow from the China Center for Agricultural Policy at Peking University. His research interests include agricultural economics and development economics, with a particular emphasis on the causes and impacts of advancements in agricultural technology. His papers have been published in many journals, including the Journal of Productivity Analysis and Governance.

Qizheng Zhang is the assistant professor in Zhejiang Institute of Administration (China). His research interests include agricultural economics, development economics, and his papers have been published in many journals, including Management World and Energy Economics.
