The book shows how you can succed in working in a multidiciplinary environment. The results has been created from two phd studies one in health science and one in computer science. The method used in the studies were the research angel of userdriven innovation called Participatory Design. The case was home treatment of patients with diabetic foot ulcers. The results were extremely positive and because of the close cooperation with all stakeholders: expert doctors and nurses, visiting nurses, patients and relatives. Furthermore the industry were active in in the research process creating the needed technology. This study demonstrates the feasibility of home treatment of diabetic foot ulcers by means of telemedicine, virtually moving experts from the hospital to the patient s home. The hospital expert acquired sufficient information for decision-making and for prescribing treatment at a distance. All involved participants expressed satisfaction and security. Four organisational issues were identified: cooperation, communication, competences and coordination. All of these issues are important to address in order to implement video consultations successfully.

Jane Clemensen, phd. is director in ComMed. She has worked as a researcher and innovation manager and she was the vice director of Centre for Pervasive Healthcare were she specialiced in telemedicine. She has written numerous papers and non- scientific articles. She has been on television, radio and newspapers with her research results.
