Telemedicine is being used today in academic medical centers, community hospitals, managed-care companies, rural hospitals and is also being used internationally to link providers in developing countries to hospitals in developed countries. Advancements in digital communication, telecommunication, and the Internet introduce an unprecedented opportunity to remote access of medical care.Wireless telemedicine is a rather new emerging area. Compared to advanced telemedicine services. Previous wireless technologies are discouraged due to low bandwidth and high cost and the new wireless broadband technologies enabled creation of telemedicine services.
