Textbook of Digital Image Receptors for Oral Radiologist

Image receptors are one of the basic components of photography and radiography. With the introduction of photographic plates, there has been a perpetual improvement in the image receptors to the modern day digital image receptor. Digital radiographic images are considered to be equivalent to film in their ability to diagnose caries, periodontal bone loss and periapical lesions. More research is required for selecting the type of digital image receptors for specific diagnostic tasks.
