Textbook of Medical Sociology and Medical Anthropology

There are several ways of writing a book on "Textbook of Medical Sociology and Medical Anthropology". One is to treat each of a number of individual authors separately. The advantage of this is that one can assess each idea as part of a total system. The disadvantage is that one must expound and assess detailed arguments, some of which may be neither original nor particularly interesting. Recently majority of our readers have begun to ask, "How can I know whether or not I really want to be a good medical practitioner, a good nurse, a good public health scientist, a good sociologist/ anthropologist if I can't practice being one?" How indeed? Practising health science and anthropology may include many experiences, but medical sociology and medical anthropology, is often considered a bona-fide practitioner scientist. I feel it can also be important for anyone who wants to understand concepts and methods and get a feeling for the sociological and anthropological perspectives in health sciences.
