The acquisition of relative clauses by Moroccan Efl Learners

This study investigates the acquisition of Relative Clauses by Moroccan EFL Learners. It purports to measure the factor of Transfer that intereferes negatively in the learning process. From the aspect of transfer, sixty University students of English were selected randomly for the three tasks intended to be among the adopted tools of investigation -sentence combining task, grammaticality judgement task and composition task. Analysis of data by means of Excel revealed students' weaknesses in using RLCs as demonstrated by the high frequency of errors they generally make in the written tests of this specific aspect of language and also uncovered transfer errors committed by BA learners of English.
