The Aesthetics of Cinema

Cinema is a multifaceted cultural industry. It was in the twentieth century a new art form and it has evolved out into a full-fledged industry in the present century. It has surprisingly survived in a site where digital delivery and multi-platform consumption thrive. The Aesthetics of Cinema looks into the changing concepts of cinema. The semiotics of resistance, a study of the third cinema forms a core chapter in the book. Punk and Action cinema is given due importance. Neo-feminist cinema and the horror genre are also covered.

Kishore Ram è ricercatore post-dottorato presso l'Università del Kerala. Ha scritto quattro libri e pubblicato numerosi articoli di ricerca. Ha vinto il premio di ricerca UGC nel 2015. Insegna inglese al MMNSS College di Kottiyam e vive a Kollam, in Kerala.
