The Appearance of Psychological Disorders in Edgar Allan Poe's Fiction

Edgar Allan Poe was a prominent person in American literature, whose remarkable writing influenced and shaped the literary trends on a global level. His works are most known for the sombre atmosphere and tragic characters, which might raise some questions in the topic of psychology. In this thesis, I attempt to draw parallels between some of his works and certain psychological disorders by literary analysis, thus highlighting the representations of the mental illnesses in Poe's fiction. This book may be enjoyable for anyone who is interested in the juxtaposition of literature and psychology.
