The Arab Uprising
Details
Is it possible to manage the desert storms which face the Arab spring? Are the "original" Arab Spring countries (Tunisia and Egypt) moving into a stable transition leading to a potentially consolidated democracy or are their processes still fragile? What were the root causes of the uprisings? What are the challenges facing the democratization process? What can make the transition phase more stable? This book attempts to understand the situation of the first countries (Egypt and Tunisia) that embarked into a transition after the uprisings of 2011 in the Middle East. It examines the difficulties in achieving democracy and launching a viable transition process. It tries to find out what are the factors that can make Arab Spring Countries more stable. This book is especially useful to readers who are following the developments of the Arab uprisings, and who are generally interested in studying societies in transitions.
