The Building Blocks of Sustainable Competitive Advantage
Details
In this new millennium, organizations are able to survive if they own the unique three building blocks of sustainable competitive advantage that are: resources, capabilities, and competencies. Actually, firms always seek to search for sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) since long time ago, and this issue of creating (SCA) has been the dominant theme in the heart of the strategic management studies for many years. The reasons behind looking to create (SCA) is that: sustainable competitive advantage is a journey and not a destination - it is like tomorrow which is unavoidable but never arrives. Sustainable competitive advantage only becomes valuable when this journey is experienced. Hence, most of the organizations, however, the problem is that seeking to answer this critical question how to identify where the journey succeed rather than failed. In fast-moving competitive environments, the nature of the journey itself keeps changing in an unforeseeable fashion. As a result of this, the process of identifying the journey presents the key challenge. Clearly, no firms are able to survive without considering the issue of how/when to create a Sustainable Competitive Advantage.
