It is known that information technology has become the business enabler for many organizations, as they are aware of IT's value to their business strategies. For that, it is important to know how IT can be controlled, managed, monitored, and governed in such a way to enable enterprises to compete through innovation and efficiency; thus the importance of IT governance (ITG) and its implementation using best practices. However, this implementation is not devoid of challenges, which range from the general to the complex. This book, therefore, is provides organizations and academia with insights into the main challenges in implementing COBIT and related practices in various countries and in the UAE in particular. This book also presents a theoretical model for the relationships between ITG adoption and the factors that hinder it, which should help organizations mitigate them.

Suadad Muammar is a lecturer at the College of Engineering and IT at University of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She received her master of science in information systems at University of Dubai. Her research focus is on IT governance, IT platform for community service, green computing and radio frequency identification (RFID).
