The Challenges of Online Distance Learning During the Pandemic

The sparks of Covid-19 pandemic brought a significant shift towards online distance learning throughout the country and many parts of the world. Thus, this book studies the challenges experienced by students, parents, and teachers. It identifies the barriers to the implementation of full distance learning, the benefits and hardship of online modality of learning. By using thematic analysis, the book gave a glimpse of the respondent's experiences, significant advantages, materials needed and pros and cons of online classes. The book also noted that the success of online courses depends on a number of factors, including the quality of the gadgets, proficiency of teachers in the use of ICT, the level of interaction between students and teachers, and the technology used to deliver the course. The book showed that most of the problems encountered by the students of a public elementary school faced during the implementation of online distance learning were health, poor internet connection, lack of ability to focus due to different distractions encountered at home.
