The Computing World
Details
The importance of this study lies in the assumption that in the not too distant future, ubiquitous computing will be part of everyday life. As described above, this ubiquitous computing future will depend on device-to-device communication, or personal area networks, to allow the environment to respond to individual needs. Defining the role of personal area networks in this ubiquitous computing world is the primary focus of this study. In addition, adopting a new technology can be expensive and time-consuming for organizations and individuals. To avoid the possibility of implementing and/or maintaining PANs incorrectly, a prediction of the future criteria for PAN success and/or future barriers and challenges of PAN is important. Primary beneficiaries of this study will be researchers and professionals who are planning PAN implementations, to help them make correct decisions. Similarly, organizations that have or will have a PAN in the workplace will benefit by being able to understand and benefit from understanding the future trends associated with this wireless technology.
