The Concise Book of Health Economics

Every government aims to promote the health of its citizens; the proportion of the gross domestic product allocated to health proves the importance of the citizens' health. However, promoting health is not only about the amount of money. Other factors, such as epidemiological indicators, political priorities and available resources, should be considered in planning health promotion. To promote health, an essential approach is multi-sectorial communication, which this book will discuss. Therefore, science must interact and generate accurate specialties that clarify the role of these interactions, such as health economics. This book is a guide to view health from different perspectives. Viewing health from various perspectives enables readers to understand the role of each health factor, leading to better health planning. In this book, the role of economics on health and its link with disease level will be examined. This book will also discuss the potential of utilising economics as a tool to promote health, reducing the disease level in communities and improving the quality of life.

The Author is a 28 year old Saudi. Has completed two major Masters in Health System and Quality Management, SA. And the second in Dental Public Health, UK. She is a Lecturer at King Saud University. And a PhD candidate, researching in the field of dental clinical outcomes and economical planning of dental and oral services at Kings College London.
