The conspiracy-mongering Renewal

In politics, everything starts with a plot and leads to a conspiracy. Plots are to politics what coal is to steam trains. In Cameroon, change means plotting against the Head of State; objecting to the perpetual presidency means plotting against the governing system; proposing an ideological and philosophical demarcation necessarily means a coterie against the party's political line. Political entrepreneurs make politics out of conspiracy, confuse politics with conspiracy and make conspiracy out of politics. They see politics as a complex activity, with intrigue as the radiator. Inheriting a long tradition of promoting and exploiting conspiracy arguments from the days of the decolonial struggle, contemporary Cameroonian political operators tirelessly promote, amplify and sponsor the circulation of conspiracy theories in order to trap public opinion in a labyrinth where conspiracy is everywhere and about everything.
