Details

The construction industry is one of most important
components in the economic development of a
developing country, being a major contributor to the
national economy and responsible for the provision
of housing, infrastructure projects and employment.
The construction industry of Yemen is plagued by
difficult economic and technical problems. This
industry faces many barriers, in addition, the
inefficient construction practices and procedures
consume excessive capital, time and resources that
have a direct flow-on effect for the national
economy and the nation s socio-economic development.
The recent global shift to sustainable development
requires that the construction industry in Yemen
initiate essential premeditated developmental
policies and strategies in order to meet future
demand for economic and sustainable development,
moreover, in accord with the local needs,
capabilities, available resources and culture.
