The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007

Ever since the rise of corporations as a business entity, the extent to which they can be liable for their actions as a legal person has been widely debated. Over the past two decades, various incidents of corporate manslaughter have highlighted the special problem of work-related deaths and corporate liability. Recently, the British discussion on corporate manslaughter has been renewed, when the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 was finally given royal assent creating the criminal offence of corporate manslaughter.
