If, through a little advice, I were to contribute in any way to the success of dachshunds, bloodhounds and their owners, I would be fulfilling my duty, and the long months spent on these stories would bear fruit. In this book, I have transcribed all the knowledge I have acquired over a lifetime as a handler and breeder. I give the techniques I have used and still use, and those which have taken me to the highest level of international competition and made my reputation worldwide.

Nací en el sur de Francia, en una época en la que los niños que vivían en el campo a menudo sólo tenían un perro como amigo. Tras una carrera en las fuerzas armadas, la profesión de criador de perros salchicha surgió por casualidad, pero me dejé llevar por la pasión e hice de ella una vida. He llevado perros por todo el mundo con la misma pasión.
